About the webinar
How to engage suppliers in carbon and environmental impact reduction?
For many organisations, supply chain-related emissions are among the largest source of emissions, and the most challenging to reduce. Implementing widespread decarbonisation initiatives throughout supply chains is critical to achieving ambitious decarbonisation targets and reducing the environmental impact across the supply chain.
This webinar presented different approaches of engaging with suppliers to achieve ambitious climate and sustainability targets, and also highlighted the importance of supplier engagement in any strategy to address procurement-related carbon and environmental impacts.
- Phoebe Bridges, Account Manager, CDP, showcased the importance of supplier engagement based on CDP data, and provided an overview of different approaches that CDP members employ.
- Marcus McKay, Head of Sustainable Supply Chains, UNOPS, presented the UNOPS Supplier Sustainability Programme, the organisation’s unique approach to collaboratively engaging with suppliers towards managing and advancing sustainability in the supply chain.
- Sarah Ouanhnon, Head of Net Zero Delivery and Partnerships, NHS England, provided insights into how the NHS implements its net zero commitment across supply chains through the NHS Net Zero Supplier Roadmap.
The presentations were followed by a Q&A session where we explored further with the panellists the challenges and opportunities of working with suppliers to reduce the procurement-related carbon and environmental footprint, both in local and international supply chains.
