ALPHADEV

About ALPHADEV

ALPHADEV is a Senegalese organisation founded in 2003 with the aim of working for the socio-economic advancement of women, children and young people from disadvantaged backgrounds towards a fair and equitable society through participatory and sustainable development.

For ALPHADEV, literacy is not an end in itself, but an essential lever for the socio-economic emancipation of citizens. ALPHADEV’s concept of literacy goes beyond access to written codes. It aims for sustainable development at grassroots level, so that communities can take charge of their own development, thereby fostering the emergence of a fairer, more prosperous society.

This is why its intervention strategy is essentially based on the use of the Reflect approach, which is a participatory learning approach linked to social change and local development.
