Why donate
We all know the climate emergency has an impact on livelihoods and health, especially for vulnerable populations.
Extreme events can disrupt essential services to populations, and climate disruptions are already increasing cardiovascular risks and affecting where and when some infectious diseases, like malaria, are spreading.
Faced with these facts, we must do our part by acting on what we control and influencing what we can.
The Climate Action Accelerator mobilises an increasing number of organisations that deliver essential services around the world to implement science-based solutions, reduce faster their dependency on fossil fuels and influence other actors in society to do the same.
We do this by designing roadmaps and pilot projects with partners, reinforcing capacity, developing resources in open-access and nourishing a community of practice and action. We also tip key players, such as funders and international and local actors, to back low-carbon, resilient, and sustainable practices and amplify.
The impact of our work is already visible. Take our work in Ngouri, Chad, where we’re working with ALIMA and Alerte Santé to adapt the district hospital to better manage the effects of extreme weather conditions and improve the community’s access to care. This includes implementing renewable power sources to reduce dependency on fossil fuels and improve resilience during power disruptions. And limiting heat for the sake of both patients and staff.
Our approach has already proven its worth. Help us replicate our model and scale it up.
Your gift matters: by donating, you help us increase our impact, making services better and living conditions more bearable during extreme weather events.
