Swiss Solidarity

For over 75 years, Swiss Solidarity (Fondation suisse de la Chaîne du Bonheur) has embodied the solidarity of the people of Switzerland. In partnership with the Swiss Broadcasting Corporation SRG-SSR and private media entities, the Foundation alerts the public and appeals for donations for victims of natural disasters and conflicts, child relief and vulnerable people in Switzerland.

Swiss Solidarity supports humanitarian projects of its 26 partner NGOs at international level. At national level, Swiss Solidarity works with various local organisations to overcome gaps in the Swiss social welfare system. The Foundation ensures an independent, responsible and transparent monitoring of funds, projects and donations. Since 1946, Swiss Solidarity has raised over two billion Swiss francs.

Swiss Solidarity formally joined Climate Action Accelerator in December 2023. The three-year partnership will aim to elaborate and implement a roadmap, setting concrete targets for reducing emissions and environmental impact. The efforts will focus on the following three areas:

• Office functioning and fundraising activities
• Investment policy
• Project financing

Swiss Solidarity is committed to reporting on measures and milestones in due course, and on sharing learnings with its Swiss NGO partners and other Climate Action Accelerator’s partners.
