Senegalese Red Cross

The Senegalese Red Cross aims to improve the plight of the most vulnerable populations—those whose survival is under threat or who risk losing an acceptable level of socio-economic security and human dignity, whatever the circumstances. It encourages its members to offer support and to remain available to act as volunteers in helping those in need.

The Senegalese Red Cross has joined the third collective cycle of the Climate Action Accelerator to accelerate its low-carbon transition and move towards a more sustainable, resilient development model. This cycle provides a collaborative framework to:

• Better understand and regularly measure the organisation’s environmental footprint (carbon and waste)
• Identify the most relevant solutions and actions to implement in order to integrate sustainable practices
• Build an environmental roadmap tailored to its context and challenges
• Roll out and implement the first concrete solutions, including through support in securing funding

This represents an opportunity for the Senegalese Red Cross to strengthen its impact while becoming part of a collective drive for innovation and resilience in the face of climate change.
