About Local Environment Development and Agricultural Research Society (LEDARS)

LEDARS (Local Environment Development and Agricultural Research Society) is a non-profit organisation working in the coastal areas of Bangladesh since 1996. It supports climate-vulnerable communities to strengthen their resilience to the impacts of climate change. LEDARS is widely recognized for its community-led initiatives in climate change adaptation, nature-based solutions, resilient livelihoods, safe drinking water, and gender equity. In recognition of its impactful work, LEDARS received the prestigious Zayed Sustainability Prize in 2023 for expanding access to climate-resilient and safe drinking water solutions. 

Our partnership

Through its participation in the collective cycle of the Climate Action Accelerator in Asia, LEDARS is committed to moving towards a sustainable, resilient and low-carbon development model, while strengthening its action in favour of populations and communities and its capacity to deal with the consequences of global warming.
