About Solidarity

SOLIDARITY is a non-governmental, non-profit, non-political, and rights-based development organisation established in 1992. Since its inception, it has been working in Kurigram District, neighbouring areas, and the north-western region of Bangladesh. The organisation is widely recognised for its transparency, accountability, inclusiveness, and its child- and women-friendly approach.

SOLIDARITY is committed to improving the lives of disadvantaged and underprivileged communities, particularly fishermen, cobblers, sweepers, carpenters, handicraft workers, potters, Dom, Chandal, and other marginalised groups. Its beneficiaries also include marginalised men and women, persons with disabilities, and socially excluded people throughout Kurigram District.

Over the years, the organisation has expanded its work to include key thematic areas such as climate change adaptation, carbon reduction, and disaster risk reduction, promoting resilient and sustainable communities. For more than 34 years, it has collaborated closely with UN agencies, international and national organisations, and government departments to advance inclusive and sustainable development.
