Our collective cycle in Asia

In autumn 2025, we expanded our work to Asia through a dedicated collective cycle in Bangladesh. The year-long programme currently supports seven national and local NGOs — Bangladesh Red Crescent Society (BDRCS), Terre des hommes Bangladesh, Breaking the Silence (BTS), Development Organisation of the Rural Poor (DORP), Friendship Bangladesh, Local Environment Development and Agricultural Research Society (LEDARS),  Mahideb Jubo Somaj Kallayan Somity (MJSKS) and Solidarity — to build climate and environmental roadmaps to 2035, in a context of increasing sea-water level, floods, land erosion, cyclones, and climate-related displacement.

Participants joined online capacity sessions and a three-day in-person workshop in Dhaka in December 2025. Together, we explored the step-by-step process into building the roadmaps and provided technical support on carbon and waste footprint analysis, climate risk and solutions mapping for programmes and operating models, monitoring frameworks, climate finance, among other topics. As a result, the NGOs identified priority adaptation actions and opportunities in operational improvements in energy, procurement, travel and waste, and strengthened peer learning and collaboration.

In 2026, the focus will be set on finalising the roadmaps, strengthening monitoring systems, preparing for implementation and scale-up, integrating our new partners in our community of practice and action and, expand the approach to other regions and organisations.
