About UICC

The Union for International Cancer Control (UICC) is the oldest and largest global membership organisation dedicated to reducing the burden of cancer around the world. Founded in 1933 and based in Geneva, Switzerland, UICC has over 1,150 member organisations in 172 countries and territories. The membership base includes the world’s major cancer leagues and societies, research institutes, treatment centres, hospitals, public health agencies and patient support groups. UICC’s mission is to both unite and support the cancer community in its efforts to reduce the global cancer burden, promote greater equity and ensure that cancer control continues to be a priority in the world health and development agenda.

Our partnership

By joining the Climate Action Accelerator in July 2023, UICC committed to strengthening the sustainability of all its activities, with a special focus on its international conferences and summits, by reducing its environmental impact and accelerating its transition to a low greenhouse gas emissions organisation. UICC is pleased to partner with the Climate Action Accelerator to support its internal efforts, and to help ensure that best practices are shared and learned between sectors to influence and contribute to a domino effect in the global health ecosystem and beyond.
