About the seminar
Healthcare Climate Transformation: From Tools to Investments for Sustainable Funding
The healthcare sector is vulnerable to climate change impacts while also being a significant contributor to global emissions (4.4% globally). Transforming healthcare systems and services toward climate resilience and low-carbon models is essential to safeguarding public health and ensuring long-term sustainability. However, healthcare systems and facilities, policymakers, and funders often struggle with translating strategic goals into practical action.
This seminar contributes to initiatives aiming at bridging the gap between strategy and implementation. It will showcase practical tools and methodologies that support climate resilience and low-carbon models in healthcare. Specifically, it will:
- Help understand the challenges faced by policy makers in terms of diagnosis and financial resources, and support for change in the operationalization of the Health-Climate agenda
- Give an overview of key tools and practical experiences that help healthcare facilities and systems assess risks, measure carbon footprints, and plan for sustainable investments.
- Foster engagement and discussion on the challenges and opportunities of financing and implementing solutions.
By bringing together global experts, tool developers, financiers and key decision-makers, this seminar will provide concrete insights and action-oriented recommendations for integrating these tools into decision-making processes and investment planning.
